One Imbalance Causing Multiple Health Problems

Man Boobs, Low Libido, Breast Cancer,
Enlarged Prostate, PMS, PMT, Moods Swings and Tiredness May be Caused By The Same Imbalance!

As you are reading the first part of this article try and guess what ‘this imbalance’ is . . .

It applies to both men and women!

With every mouthful of food and drink you have, with every personal hygiene products you use and with every synthetic smell you inhale, they collectively can create ‘this imbalance’ if you’re not careful.

Firstly let’s look at food and drink . . .

Any meat whether Red Meat, Chicken, Turkey, Lamb or Fish where chemicals are used either directly onto the animal or the food they ingest may possibly create ‘this imbalance’.

Therefore every time you eat a burger or chicken sandwich made from these animals filled with chemicals, you’re likely getting this imbalance.

The sandwich you just made with non-organic spinach leaves, avocado and cucumber that are supposed to be so “healthy”?

Yep, you guessed it, more imbalances.

Any form of chemical sprayed on your veggies will also do it.

Add cheese? There’s more of it. Add an inorganic egg? Yep you guessed it . . . even more.

Put some sauce on it and wrap it up with your favourite wholemeal bun or bread or wrap and . . . yep you guessed it!!!

Even the soy products are to blame, as any soy product that has NOT been fermented may induce this imbalance. (Any organic fermented soy products like misso or tofu are exceptions.) When you have this condition, Wayne prefers no soy at all.

From Research, if you eat too much soy, it blocks sex hormones from reaching their receptors.3

And this can possibly deprive any man of every bit of sexual desire and vigor!

Man Boobs can now easily develop.

If you’re a vegan or vegetarian it may affect you more. In another article I’ll explain why.

Water today is contaminated – that’s why we have always said to filter your water.

Drinking water out of plastic water bottles and if anything you drink has chemicals in it, this too may create the imbalance.

Ever Used a Plastic Bag?

Plastic is by far the worst offender… and in today’s world, plastic is almost impossible to avoid. Chemicals like the widely publicised “bisphenol A” or BPA are found in almost all plastic products.

Other countries around the world have banned BPA, but it’s still a favourite in Australia. And aside from the obvious dangers of plastic, big industry puts thousands of chemicals into the items you use everyday.

Here are just a few examples:

  • Shampoo
  • Deodorants
  • Soaps
  • Detergents
  • Vinyl flooring
  • Garden hoses
  • Pesticides
  • Fertilizers

What may be even worse, chemical toxic substances are being produced by the thousands each and every day . . . being poured into our environment. And the majority of these chemicals and compounds once again may create ‘this imbalance.’

A Shocking Statistic . . .

“Of the 287 chemicals detected in umbilical cord blood, we know that 180 cause cancer in humans or animals, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests.” 1

Even if you don’t see it, feel it or taste it… if it’s a synthetic chemical it may create ‘this imbalance’ and every day they have the potential of getting into your blood.

By now you may be wondering what is “this imbalance” and what does it do.

These are questions that need urgent attention.

Because the human body has never come in contact with these TOXIC chemicals, except in the last 100 or so years, the body somehow has to work out what they are.

Then your body has to work out how to detoxify these toxic substances.

Bio-chemically the body sees these chemicals as having a similar bio-chemical footprint to that of oestrogen.

Unfortunately the human body knows no better.

Hence the term Xenoestrogen or Xenohormones.

Xenoestrogen or Xenohormones creates ‘this imbalance.’

These substances then contribute to Estrogen Dominance.

‘This imbalance’ therefore is known as Oestrogen Dominance.

For those who need to know or who are unsure of the term Estrogen Dominance. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia on the Internet. Xeno- is a prefix based on the Greek word ―Xenos‖ meaning stranger.

And excess estrogen is certainly a toxic stranger to women, men and children.

When these oestrogen look-a-likes get into your bloodstream, they attach to oestrogen receptors and give your cells a new set of instructions.

These receptors are like a landing pad on the surface of every cell and there are approximately 10 trillion cells in the body.

Trillions of cells through their landing pads are receiving nutrients and information.

For the male with Oestogen Dominance these instructions are very feminising because your body sees these chemicals as oestrogen. This cycle wages warfare on your testosterone, your masculinity.

Your body will rebuild itself more feminine or oestrogen like.

Over time you’ll notice extra tummy fat, less muscle tone and more fat developing around and into your breasts. For males  man boobs becomes the norm. Energy depletion, mood swings, feeling angry, bedroom activity depletes and lack of motivation occurs.

But there are herbs and nutrients that I have called Hormone Superheroes.

Look for the ones I have nicknamed . . . Superman or Superwoman.

More about them later.

Now for a Woman . . . Managing the Master Hormone

Oestrogen is essential for healthy female reproductive function.

This hormone plays a part in every stage of a female’s life – from early childhood development to puberty, throughout the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, childbirth and finally, through the menopausal years.

Too many women suffer from symptoms related to having either too much or not enough oestrogen and accept it as a normal part of being a woman.

However, it is not only females that are affected by oestrogen; as mentioned men also have conditions that are influenced by imbalances in oestrogen metabolism, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or an enlarged prostate.

The good news is that you can manage this master hormone and no longer be at the mercy of your hormones.

Oestrogen: the “Good” vs. the “Bad”

Oestrogen exists in different forms within the body in both men and women.

There are 3 Oestrogens with 3 oestrogen metabolites produced.

One of these oestrogen metabolites is good for the body and is essential to reproductive health; the other two are less favourable and is associated with PMS and other hormonal issues.

To stay in a healthy hormonal state, your body needs more of the “good” oestrogen and less of the “bad” oestrogens.

When the body does not keep these oestrogen metabolites in the correct balance, the body can develop an oestrogen imbalance, which may be associated with conditions such as prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and breast enlargement (man boobs) in men, or PMT, endometriosis or uterine fibroids in women.

Do you suffer at the hand of your hormones?

The following symptoms may also indicate imbalances in these oestrogen metabolites:

  • Bloating or fluid retention
  • Fatigue or lack of energy
  • Weight gain
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Headaches
  • Heavy, or irregular periods
  • Sugar cravings
  • Mood swings and irritability
  • Night sweats
  • Loss of libido
  • Man Boobs
  • Prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Healthy Hormone Balance

Don’t let your hormones rule your life.

With the help of these herbal and nutritional hormone heroes and by making simple dietary and lifestyle changes, you really can help to manage your oestrogen levels to bring you back to a state of balance.

Herbs and Nutrients – Our Hormone Superheroes

Supporting healthy oestrogen metabolism can ensure we have the correct ratios of “good” oestrogen and lower amounts of the “bad” oestrogen.

It is also important to assist in the detoxification of less favourable oestrogen to create a healthy balance. Particular herbs and nutrients have been shown to support healthy oestrogen metabolism, including:

  • Indole-3-Carbinol: is found in broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and brussels sprouts. Indole-3-carbinol is a powerful ingredient that supports oestrogen detoxification to maintain a healthy oestrogen balance. This nutrient is the Superman or Superwoman of them all for creating balance once again.

Studies published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and the Journal of Endocrinology show the ability of I3C to turn the “bad” estrogen into a neutral metabolite.1a, 2
  • Curcumin: is the active component in the herb, turmeric, which has been used traditionally for the management of period pain. It offers potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity and also supports liver detoxification.
  • Broccoli sprouts: contain two active ingredients, glucosinolates and sulphoraphane which have antioxidant properties and the ability to activate the body’s natural detoxification system, aiding in the elimination of oestrogens and toxins from the body.

Is the Change of Life Ruining Your Life?

As women near the end of their reproductive years and head towards menopause, oestrogen levels start to drop as hormone production from the ovaries declines.

Symptoms such as hot flushes, sweating, palpitations, low back pain, anxiety and insomnia occur in varying degrees during menopause and can greatly impact on many women’s quality of life.

To help get the most out of life in these later years, the Super Woman herbs include Rheumania, Chinese yam, Peony and Zizyphyus have been found to enhance hormone production in Peri-menopausal women and may help in the management of menopausal symptoms.

For a male when they reach men — o — pause their testosterone can decrease with the production of DHT or Dihydro-testosterone and they also can experience Oestrogen Dominance.

It’s the feminizing hormone.

Symptoms can include . . .

  • Prostate Enlargement – benign prostate hyperplasia / hypertrophy (BPH) and the risk of prostate cancer.
  • Urination – difficulty, increased frequency. Constricted urethra.
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Low Libido
  • Fatigue.
  • Depression
  • Adiposity (fat build-up) and the redistribution of fat. Estrogen stimulates the production of fat cells. However, fat cells also make a small amount of estrogen, causing a vicious cycle.
  • Muscle development reduced.
  • Body hair reduced.
  • Veins become less prominent.
  • Balding
  • Breast growth (man boobs).
  • Risk of cancers.
  • Risk of heart conditions.
  • Sweat and body odour changes.
  • Skin thinning.

To help men with men—o—-pause, the Super Man herbs include Holy Basil, Saw Palmeto, Nettle Root, Horny Goat Weed and  Epilobium have been found to balance hormone production in men and may help in the management of male men—-o—-pausal symptoms.

Diet and Lifestyle Tips

The following diet and lifestyle tips can help bring you and your hormones back into a state of balance:

  • Include organic healthy, low-fat protein (e.g. fresh lean fish, lean beef, chicken, eggs, legumes and tofu) in your daily diet.
  • Eat a rainbow of fresh organic fruit and vegetables daily.
  • Enjoy organic nuts, seeds and oils daily.
  • Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake, as these can worsen hormonal symptoms.
  • Get moving. Enjoy a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate exercise each day.
  • Aim for eight hours of sleep every night and take time out to rest and relax.
  • Drink at least two litres of purified water daily. Clean, fresh water is vital for all aspects of good health.

For Men you don’t have to have the hormones of a woman taking over your life and for women – reclaim your health once again by staying away from Xenoestrogens.
